Design Description

Tree roots run in partnership with fungi. The fungal threads reach finer and further than roots manage alone, and the tree trades sugar for the minerals they bring back up. Most of the working surface of a forest sits underground, out of sight, doing chemistry.

Struck in stark black line like a plate pulled from an old grimoire. A bare-crowned tree branches into a hundred fine ends, a dark orb sits where the canopy opens, a crescent rides the outer edge. Below the trunk the roots descend and wind, coiling into a vortex that swallows the base. Two rings seal it, angular script along the outer band and the old planetary sigils set into the inner one, Jupiter and Mars and Saturn and Mercury and the Sun.

Descent is a discipline. Whatever the roots turn up down there comes back as the crown.
